Meet Your Instructor

¡Hola! My first Spanish teachers had feathers. Growing up in San Francisco's Mission District, even my Abuelita Elvira's cherry-head conures chattered with a Salvadoran accent. As a heritage speaker who stopped speaking Spanish and then started again, I understand the challenges of picking up a new language or returning to one as an adult. I also know how great it feels in real life: giving someone a compliment, making a new friend, even giving directions to a stranger who is lost, all in Spanish. Becoming bilingual has shaped my life and relationships in ways I never saw coming, and I am excited for you to meet the new bilingual you!
